Healing Benefits Of Gemstones

This article covers the details of some gemstone properties, their uses, their value, and their beauty. Gemstones have a background on a metaphysical level. What I mean by that is that there are earthly powers associated with gemstones.

I am a highly spiritual person who believes in the power of the earth and the solar system as well. It puzzles me when I speak with people who do not believe in the power of the planets to affect our lives. Especially because I believe that we are stardust ourselves! We are made up of all of the elements of the universe.

That’s another subject completely, but it brings me back to the power of the earth which is charged by the solar system which in turn charges the properties here on earth including rocks and stones. Often these stones can be healing in various ways. Therefore, I thought it would be interesting to go over the healing properties of a few select gemstones:

Alexandrite has a metaphysical presence for giving one self confidence and self-esteem. It’s also a stone of prosperity and longevity. It’s believed to improve blood circulation, purify blood and strengthen blood vessels. It is what is called, ‘a color change’ stone.

A natural Alexandrite will change color from green in darker light to red under bright light. Not to mention that it has made Forbes Top 12 Most Expensive gemstones and Forbes Top Ten Rarest.

Adventurine is a stone of good fortune, fertility and helps to promote friendship and happiness. It also encourages leadership, persistence, optimism, and creativity. If you are in need of a confidence boost you can wear adventurine.

It will help you make better decisions. It’s said it will balance blood pressure, cholesterol and that it benefits the thymus gland thus helping with skin eruptions, allergies, and headaches. I also love the green adventurine because it is so pretty and matches my favorite green toe-nail polish!

Amethyst is believed to put one in a peaceful space. So, you can use it in your office or your bedroom as it will help to induce sleep. Place it anywhere that you want a stress-free environment like in your office.

It is further a stone of intuition, trust and spirituality. Not to mention it’s beautiful purple color. If you want serentiy, peace and relaxation this is your go to stone.

Green Jade uplifts the spirit and soothes the heart. It’s believed to help in prolonging life. It is also said to bring joy, love, health, and abundance. Not too shabby! And, lavender jade is very good for for spiritiual healing.

There is a saying about Jade that I really like. It is, “Diamonds are pricey but jade is priceless!” So keep that in mind when thinking about purchasing jade. When I wear jade I often notice how cooling it is to the skin. It makes one feel regal!

These are just a few of the gemstones that I wanted to discuss today. However, it is also wise to keep in mind that when a mine closes and a gemstone is no longer being mined, that gemstones becomes more valuable because supply becomes limited and there is not enough to satisfy the demand, thereby, pushing prices even higher.

It is also amazing that many people do not consider the price of gold and silver, of which much jewelry is made. When gold prices increase, so do all precious metals like silver and platinum.

The number one collectible gemstone at present is Tanzanite. It’s all the rage for collectors. Mainly because aside from it being a beautiful blue stone, it is very rare in addition to being scarce.

The mines are no longer producing Tanzanite. This gemstone is considered to become an heirloom piece which will be nearly impossible to obtain within in the next 10 years. Prices for the gemstone will increase in value immensely.

However, prices are already increasing and this beautiful stone is in high demand because of the closing of the Tanzanite mine in Africa.

According to CharmsOfFlight.com, Tanzanite stimulates the throat chakra, third-eye chakra, and crown chakra.  It activates our psychic abilities and vibratory rate, facilitating communication with the higher spiritual dimensions.

Tanzanite is a stone of transformation that can help dissolve old patterns of disease and karma. It enables us to move forward with optimism and inspiration, giving us a sense of direction and allowing us to manifest our powers for the highest good.

Tanzanite enhances healing at all levels, as well as protecting those who are doing the healing.  Physically, Tanzanite alleviates skin disorders, clears the throat and lungs, and can be used to treat disorders of the ears and eyes.

It boosts the immune system, speeding up recovery after an illness, and detoxifies and regenerates cells and tissues.  Tanzanite is also helpful in treating spinal problems and diseases of the reproductive system.

Lastly, the Ethiopian Welo Opal is said to rival the popular Australian Opal which once dominated in the Opal world. However, the translucence and beautiul play of brilliant color inherent in the Welo Opal has set the world afire!

This is also a good purchase for collectors because the mines are closing soon in Ethiopia and they will no longer be mining nor producing the Welo Opal. Therefore, prices are expected to increase exponentially.

Liz Oakes of Healing-crystals-for-you.com states that the Ethiopian Opal boosts precognition, decision making and creativity. Ethiopian Opals are excellent crystals to use for psychic development. They may be used in meditation to help to boost  the ability to see the future, also known as precognition.

They magnify the awakening of the kundalini and are highly protective, helping to release fear while providing a protective energetic barrier around you.
